A Wausau man facing more than a dozen charges in connection with a high-speed chase in Lincoln County has been scheduled for a plea hearing.

Nicholas Langston faces eight felony counts, including first- and second-degree recklessly endangering safety, fleeing an officer and multiple counts of felony bail jumping, following the chase in late May. The charges are allegations and have not been proven in court.

According to the report, the incident began when officers tried to stop the 35-year-old, knowing he was wanted on an outstanding warrant. He sped away, and the chase reached speeds of 130 miles per hour.

Officers ended the chase for public safety reasons. Langston was later found at a bar in Tomahawk and arrested without incident.

A plea hearing is scheduled for Dec. 11. Court records show the hearing will also cover an outstanding OWI matter and fines. On the most serious count, first-degree recklessly endangering safety, Langston faces up to seven and a half years in prison if convicted.
