UW-La Crosse opened its women's swimming season with a third-place finish, scoring 541 points.
Minnesota State Mankato won the meet with 780 points, and St. Cloud State placed second with 572.
The Eagles won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:37.75. Autumn Wiskus won the 50 freestyle in 24.26, and Biegler won the 200 freestyle in 1:59.83.
In diving, Thornton placed second in the 1-meter event with 224.75 points.
UW-La Crosse next hosts UW-Whitewater on Friday, Oct. 16.
